Subject: Calling all multilingual friends!
Hi there all,
I am writing with a question for your multilingual minds. At
NCELA today, we are preparing a presentation that will be used by the US
Department of Education's Office of English Language Acquistion in a few
weeks. For the presentation, we would like to translate and include the
phrase "No Child Left Behind" in as many languages as we possibly can. We
would welcome any language, and have a lot of them covered here, but in
particular I am still searching for translations into Russian, Hmong, Urdu,
Armenian and Laotian.
Any other languages are also welcome. I know you know many, and if you
could
translate "No Child Left Behind" in any of those or other languages, I would
greatly appreciate it. Or if you know some resource (person or website) I
could access for translation, that would also be appreciated.
For languages that you cannot type on a Roman keyboard, we also have a fax
number : (202) 467-4283.
If you have the time or interest to figure out this mini-puzzle, I thank you
in advance!
Hope all is well with you,
~Jane
