My name is Kathy Songer and I'm from Michigan. I do have some friends (pen pales) living in Mali, Africa. Recently, they sent me lots of cards from the dogon? country and Mopti? Mopty? I loved so much thoses cards and would like to know more about the stated places. Can anyone help and provide informations about the "history, or legend" of the dogons and why Mopty, according to my friends, is called "venise? malienne?
I would like to go to Mali during the christmass holidays, that's why I'm looking for those informations. I might also do a presentation on Mali.
I'm mainly going to Mali because of Toumbouctou. My friends said it's in Mali, they even sent me a map. Can you please tell me more about this legendary city, the culture??
I would really appreciate if you could also list any web site, news-papers....in which I can get informations about those three well known African cities.
