Moumine,
there is a very active peace movement in Israel that unfortunately
does not get a lot of press. We tend to see a one-sided rendering
of what's going on, i.e., it's more dramatic to see people calling
for blood than otherwise. Israeli soldiers, journalists and (just
regular) citizens are standing up everyday against their own
government -- they are just not making it to the 6 o'clock news.

The polls coming from Israel seem to suggest otherwise, but these
things are as biased as you can get; when you are told (day in,
day out) that Arafat has rejected "the best deal ever" (i.e. his
only objective is to kick all Jews out of Palestine) and you think
you don't have security, it is very easy to radicalize. Many
Israelis really believe that the Palestinians don't want peace!!!!
