Hello Amadou and All,

Hello Amadou and All,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

If you got your passport for less than $100.00 you were lucky! I applied for a new passport in August of 2003. I paid $153.00($135.00 for the passport and $18.00 for the id card) and they said it would take 2 months. It actually took 2 months and 2 weeks or so.

I believe the embassy may be adding their own processing fee, which may explain the discrepancies between the prices.

On the web site of the Mali embassy in DC this is what they indicate:

    Passports
    Important information

A consular Identity card is required whenever a new passport is issued
Two (2) completed application forms, Two (2) recent passport size photographs
      An application fee of $18
NB: the total fee for a new passport will be $153

      Documents required for new passports
a)A certified copy of the birth certificate
     b)Two (2) completed application forms
c)Three (3) recent passport size photographs
d)The copy of the old passport
e))An application fee of $135 in money order, cash or check (no personal check)
The passport application will be processed in two (2) months
